Taking my own advice

Sometimes, listening to what I need means listening to what I’ve shared.

I just wrapped-up work on a volunteer project* which was a delight to create but took up most of my weekend. I’m now faced with a dilemma: I can spend the remaining hours of this lovely sunny day hunkered down at my computer desk, staring at a computer screen writing this weekend’s article, or, I can accept that what I probably need most is to step away and give my rods and cones some rest from pixels and go outside to soak in a little green and blue before the weekend has passed.

Often on Life Noticed, I encourage others to make time to rest, however, it can sometimes be challenging to take my own advice, especially when I know there’s still a weekly article to write. Today, I’m going to practice what I preach and listen to what my mind and body need, which is to embrace a much needed break. I’ll be away from Life Noticed next weekend for a planned “learning weekend” session to catch up on some reading, art, and rest, but I look forward to sharing with you again soon!

*I created and edited a how-to video for an amazing little zine which will be released soon. I can’t wait to share more about it!
