In this demo, I'll introduce a simple philosophy for sustaining a creative habit and briefly share how I’ve maintained a daily art practice for more than four years by lowering expectations, working in small moments, and simplifying tools.

We’ll explore a few practical strategies for getting started—even on days when you’re tired or unsure what to draw—and discuss how everyday observations can become sketching opportunities.

I’ll also share examples of lightweight drawing kits, including an “ultralight” setup designed to reduce friction and make it easier to sketch wherever you are.

The session will include a short, informal sketch demonstration focused on process rather than perfection, as well as our open conversation and questions about building a sustainable art habit.

We'll discuss how to decide what to draw, and ways to build your toolkit for different occasions—from field and studio brushes, to easels and bags. I'll also share how simplifying your supplies can make it easier to sketch wherever you are.
